Garima Lohia Marksheet: On May 23, 2023, the Union Public Service Commission announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination for the year 2022. It was noteworthy that the top four positions were secured by women. Ishita Kishore claimed the first spot, followed by Garima Lohia in second, Uma Hartithin N in third, and Smriti Mishra securing the fourth position.

Garima Lohia, who secured the second position, started her UPSC and CSE preparations in 2020 by studying at home during the COVID-19 lockdown. Instead of choosing any training institute, she relied on books and online resources to prepare herself. Even though she did not join the coaching institute, Garima attended a series of exams to prepare for the mains, dedicating 8 to 9 hours for daily study

Family

Hailing from Bihar’s Buxar district, Garima Lohia secured All India 2nd position in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022. Born in a Hindu family, Garima’s father Narayan Prasad Lohia is a prominent businessman of Bihar. After the death of her father in 2015, the responsibilities of the house fell on Garima and her mother Sita Lohia. She has three brothers, including a sister named Astha Lohia.

Education

Garima Lohia’s went to Wood Stock School for her primary education. After completing her 12th standard at Sunbeam School in Banaras, Uttar Pradesh, she pursued higher studies in Delhi, enrolling in Kirori Mal College and graduating in Commerce.

Despite facing challenges after her father’s death, Garima Lohia’s mother consistently supported her to pursue her studies. She then became an IAS officer.
