K Annamalai Hits back at DMK on Annual Budget

K Annamalai, the State BJP president, took a strong stance against the DMK government’s budget announcements on February 19, 2024. According to Mr. Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu government’s budget for this year merely echoes the same empty promises it has been making for the past three years.

In a press statement, Mr. Annamalai criticized the recurrent announcements related to river restoration and the purchase of new buses, emphasizing the lack of visible implementation. He questioned the DMK’s tendency to claim credit for Central government schemes and expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of merely renaming centrally funded initiatives.

Mr. Annamalai highlighted the absence of allocated funds by the DMK government to fulfill the promises outlined in their manifesto. He accused the government of prioritizing the renaming of schemes after the late DMK leader Karunanidhi instead of taking tangible actions.

Furthermore, K. Annamalai criticized the government for squandering public funds for the sake of publicity, asserting that no new schemes benefiting the public interest were introduced. He concluded by stating that these actions have left the people of Tamil Nadu feeling neglected and stranded. K. Annamalai’s outspoken criticism reflects a broader narrative of challenging DMK policies perceived as lacking in the public’s best interests and points towards a changing political landscape in Tamil Nadu.
